 About Aisling – The Cheating Wife in Second Life

My name isn’t really Aisling. It’s the name I chose for Second Life, for this version of me that isn’t supposed to exist. In the real world, I’m a wife. Married, stable, a woman who looks like she has it all together. But looks don’t tell you what happens behind closed doors ... or in a marriage bed that’s gone cold.

I started Confessions of a Cheating Wife because I needed somewhere to put the truth. Not the polite answers I give when friends ask how things are. Not the small lies I tell myself when I crawl into bed untouched again. The real truth. That I love my husband. That I would never leave him. That he is everything to me… except enough.

Sex is where our marriage broke down. Twice a month, maybe. Always with that air of duty instead of desire. I wanted more, needed more, until my hunger turned into resentment. And then into curiosity. And then into action.

That action was logging back into Second Life after seven years away. I told myself it was just to look around, just to see what had changed. But I knew why I was really there. I wanted men. I wanted passion. I wanted to be the cheating wife he’ll never suspect. And I wanted the excitement of knowing I was doing something dangerous.

This blog is where I write it all down. Every thought, every confession, every dirty moment. It’s where I can say the things I’ll never say to his face. It’s my diary, my sin, my way of making sense of this secret side of me.
